Intent to Transfer for Teachers

Things change...you may move, finish a degree, have a life-changing event, or even find you would like to move on from your current school. Within PCPS, in order to be eligible for a transfer during the transfer windows, teachers must enter the "transfer portal" by completing the intent to transfer process.
Entering the portal does NOT impact your current contract or re-appointment. It simply shows that you are considering your options. Your school cannot make HR decisions based on whether or not you are in the portal. BUT, if you find a different job or school you are interested in, you must be "in the portal" to be considered as a candidate.
The teacher transfer portal is now open for the majority of the year with considerations for transfer happening at the end of the first semester and during the summer. Here is a quick video that explains the super easy process to enter the transfer portal!
Remember, you are not eligible for transfer while on your probationary period (generally the first full year of teaching in PCPS). If your portal does not show the transfer option, please contact HR to determine why. Here is a quick video that shows you how to enter the transfer portal:
